Recently, the Oregon Department of Energy‘s Communications Director, Jennifer Kalez and Senior Policy Analyst Michael Freels appeared on Jefferson Public Radio to explain the new Energy Efficient Rebate Program.

The program is a result of HB 5006, which passed in the wake of the 2020 Labor Day wildfires. The bill allocated about $10.8 million in General Fund dollars to incentives for energy efficient rebuilding of residential and commercial structures that were destroyed during the wildfires.
