On the latest episode of the Oregon Department of Energy‘s Grounded, the team is talkin’ trash in Southern Oregon at Rogue Disposal & Recycling. ODOE’s Community & Government Affairs Manager Laura Leebrick and Drycreek Landfill President Lee Fortier share how the company is turning waste into useable energy.
The company is already collecting gases from its landfill to produce electricity, which is sold to Pacific Power customers. On the horizon? Turning that gas into renewable natural gas, which could power the trucks that collect the garbage. (Learn more about RNG in ODOE’s 2018 RNG Inventory report!)
